State regulators hold hearing on Google wetlands plan

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Indiana state regulators held a hearing Tuesday on Google’s plans to fill more protected wetlands as its Fort Wayne data center grows.

The public had a chance to comment on the project and its impact on the water ecosystem.

“Once wetlands are destroyed, you’re not gonna get them back,” said Linda Hathaway, a concerned resident. “Buying a credit, tryin’ to fix ‘em somewhere else, it’s not ever gonna be the same.”…
