As interest in solar energy continues to grow across the Tennessee Valley, Huntsville Utilities is offering customers a new option through its Solar Connect program. Designed for residential and small commercial customers with behind-the-meter solar systems, Solar Connect provides a straightforward way to connect privately owned solar systems to the utility grid.
With Solar Connect, eligible customers with rooftop or ground-mounted solar systems can receive bill credits for excess energy sent back to the grid. Credits are based on the TVA wholesale rate, which is set at $0.064270 per kWh for 2026.
The program also gives customers with existing solar systems a new option as older TVA solar programs transition. Whether installing a new system or continuing to operate an existing one, Solar Connect offers a clear process for participating customers.
Program Requirements
