JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 72-year-old Jacksonville woman faces a felony charge after allegedly striking a teenager with her car and driving away without stopping to help, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Brenda Saddler was arrested Sunday, Aug. 23, and booked into jail just before 5 p.m. She faces one felony count of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, as well as a traffic violation for driving on the wrong side of the road.
What happened on Mayport Road, according to report
The incident occurred Saturday, Aug. 22 at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Mayport Road.
According to the arrest report, a 14-year-old witness told officers he was riding his e-bike southbound on Old Mayport Road with his 15-year-old friend who was holding onto the bike while riding a skateboard. The 14-year-old said he heard a vehicle honk from behind and attempted to move further right in the lane.
