MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A tree that fell on a home during Saturday’s storm left an East Memphis family without power or a place to stay, and neighbors are now helping each other recover.
The tree fell onto Cordarro Sanders’ home during the storm. Sanders said the damage was worse than he expected. He did not see the damage until he returned from vacation.
“I didn’t think it was going to be this bad until I actually got here. When I actually got here and saw it, it was terrible. I just wanted to break down, thinking about my kids,” he said.
Sanders’ child asked him, “Are we getting a new house?” Sanders responded, “I’m trying to get us a new house.”…
