A Montgomery County jury has sentenced Everton A. Edwards, 63, to life in prison after finding him guilty of Murder in the 9th District Court before the Honorable Judge Phil Grant.
The case began in the early morning hours of January 12, 2025, when officers from the Conroe Police Department found 38-year-old Vonnie “Clay” Holcomb dead in the driver’s seat of his pickup truck in a residential neighborhood. Clay had been shot in the head, and no firearm was found inside the vehicle.
