Inmate serving second-degree murder dies

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Benny Laible, convicted of second-degree murder died in prison, the state Department of Corrections said.

Laible, 66, died on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the DOC said.

Laible was serving a life sentence for the shooting death of his mother in rural Howard in Miner County in September 1996, media reports said.
