ALBANY — The latest Herbie’s Burgers has opened. It’s the first with a two-floor concept and the first to serve alcohol — sort of, at least at the moment.
While the new Herbie’s, in the former Bombers Burrito Bar building on Lark Street, waits for its liquor license, it plans to use one-day permits for alcohol pop-ups. The first day of service and first pop-up were Friday. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily; future bar pop-ups will be announced on its Facebook and Instagram pages. The address is 258 Lark St., with the new location a successor to the original Herbie’s, which opened in fall 2021 in a former deli space at 196 Lark St. The original closed last week.
Herbie’s is leasing the former Bombers building from Bombers founder Matt Baumgartner, who sought out Herbie’s owners Nick Warchol and Aaron Wilson when a previous tenant, Out of Town Bistro, asked to be let out of its lease after less than two years…
