Residents wanted Flock gone. Davidson County listened as debate nears Charlotte

The fate of 25 Flock cameras in Davidson County was sealed Monday night after commissioners voted unanimously to terminate its contract with the security company, take the cameras down and reallocate that money to a mobile command center.

But it seemed a decision was made well before the vote as most of the County Board of Commissioners reassured Sheriff Richie Simmons that while they respected him, they didn’t respect the automatic license plate readers —- also known as ALPRs.
