Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport will close Runway 4/22 for two 60-hour periods in September as part of a major rehabilitation project. The first closure begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, and ends at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14.
The second closure follows the same weekend schedule, beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and ending at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21. The airport describes both periods as full runway closures needed for intensive pavement work.
The terminal will be closed to the public during both 60-hour windows because no flights will be offered. Cargo flights also will stop during the closures and resume as soon as possible afterward…
