HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Ahead of a Harrisburg City Council meeting Tuesday night, where the widower of a woman killed crossing Front Street is expected to demand action, a key regional planning commission is already “working with regional stakeholders” to “improve multimodal accessibility and safety along this vital corridor,” an organization leader said Tuesday afternoon.
A car struck and killed 55-year-old Holly Engelman Aug. 8 as she tried to cross Front Street on foot. One of the world’s best-regarded street planners said he “was perplexed” at the road’s design, which he said could rather easily and inexpensively be corrected.
