With many students set to head back to school next month, Valley River Center is urging shoppers to help local children start the year with new clothes through its Back-to-School Giving Tree clothing drive.
The drive is running now through Sept. 8. Shoppers can take an apple-shaped donation tag from the Giving Tree, buy the item listed on the tag, then place the tag and donation in a nearby bin. The requested items will go to Every Child’s Brighter Side Clothing Closet.
“Everybody, every child should have a special first day of school and have great clothes to wear to school,” VRC’s Marketing Manager, Heather Decker said. “It’s just gonna feel great that you’re helping another child in need, and make their school year special.”…
