ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – An Anchorage man convicted of killing two people in 1993 was resentenced Friday to 99 years in prison, following a legal process that stretched more than three decades and was ultimately reshaped by U.S. and Alaska Supreme Court rulings on juvenile sentencing.
Superior Court Judge Andrew Peterson handed down the sentence Aug. 21 for Brian Hall, now 50, in the killings of Mickey Dinsmore and Stanley Honeycutt in the Stuckagain Heights neighborhood.
Hall was 17 when he killed the two unarmed men on April 16, 1993. A jury convicted him of first-degree and second-degree murder, and then-Judge Rene Gonzalez sentenced him to 159 years.
