Facing an 11 count indictment for first-and-second degree attempted murder, Nedrick Lamont Johnson, 31, turned down a plea deal in an Aug. 26 hearing before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.
According to the statement of charges, officers responded to suspected gunfire on the 4100 block of Parkside Drive on April 10. They found droplets of blood and nine shell casings on the 4200 block of Belair Road. After learning there was a walk-in shooting victim at Union Memorial Hospital with an abdominal wound, police went to investigate.
In a review of surveillance footage, officers identified a person said to be Johnson and an unknown Black man engaged in an argument, which was on the verge of a physical fight. As the scene unfolded Johnson, limping, is depicted as pulling a gun out of a satchel. Then he chases the unknown victim and, according to police, fires at him at least nine times.
