There’s a particular kind of confidence that comes from not needing to shout. Hawksmoor has never needed to.
For two decades, the London-born steakhouse has built its reputation the slow way: dry-aging beef properly, grilling it over charcoal, and trusting that people who care about a well-made Martini will find their way to the bar. On September 8th, that trust extends to Fort Point, where Hawksmoor opens its third U.S. location and fifteenth restaurant overall, on the ground floor of 15 Necco Street.
The space seats 280 across the main dining room and a 2,000-square-foot terrace overlooking Fort Point Channel, open for lunch, dinner, and Sunday Roast. Co-founders Will Beckett and Huw Gott have described Boston’s pull as more than opportunistic: a city with history worth respecting and a restaurant scene worth joining, not disrupting.
The room leans into that same restraint: dark blue and green paneling, leather and velvet seating, wood and brass-topped tables, and enough natural light off the channel to feel like a well-worn London institution rather than a new build. Servers dress relaxed and follow Hawksmoor’s ethic, work hard and be nice to people, which sounds simple until you’ve eaten somewhere that doesn’t bother…
