CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The man accused of blowing up his own home in the city’s Dilworth neighborhood has been deemed unfit for trial, court records show.
Michael Edward Barnette is facing several charges for the May 2, 2025 incident, including first-degree arson and malicious use of explosives causing property damage. He appeared in court on Monday, Aug. 24, for a capacity review where he was deemed “incapable to proceed.”
