PIEDMONT, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The estate of a woman who was killed outside an Upstate business in 2024 has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the coworker charged with her murder and the staffing agency that helped hire him.
Katy Jones, 36, was shot multiple times in her car outside NRTC Automation on Exchange Logistics Park Drive in Piedmont on May 17, 2024. She died after being transported to a Prisma Health hospital.
Investigators identified Derek Snyder as the suspect in Jones’ slaying, who had also been an employee at NRTC until a few weeks before the homicide.
Snyder ran from the scene and was arrested hours later in Buford, Georgia…
