WEDNESDAY: A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY is in effect due to the potential for strong to severe storms; we’ve lowered our typical threshold due to ongoing impacts from storms from Saturday across the region. Be neighborly and inform those who may still be without power or have damage to their homes.
Here’s what to expect: A few showers and storms could have impact Wednesday morning, followed by a stronger round during the afternoon and evening hours. A SLIGHT (2/5) risk with damaging wind gusts and hail being the primary concerns. Highs will reach the muggy lower 90s. Widely scattered storms will linger overnight with lows in the lower to middle 70s. Low-lying and poor drainage flooding could also become a concern in spots that see multiple rounds of rain and storms.
Similar to any severe weather event – not everyone will see storms, and of those who sees storms – not all will be severe. You should be prepared and aware, nonetheless, for all possibilities.
