SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Humane Society is facing an urgent capacity crunch after 23 adult Chihuahuas were brought to its San Diego campus this week following their owner’s eviction from a home in Imperial Beach.
Officials with the nonprofit said the dogs arrived Tuesday as part a larger influx that saw the shelter take in 103 animals in a single day. With the arrivals, the Humane Society’s canine capacity is now at 171%.
