WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Extreme heat is off the table this week. Expect daily high temps and feels likes in the 80s and 90s, respectively, through the weekend. Chances for locally heavy showers and storms line up like: 30 to 40% Wednesday, 50 to 60% Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 30 to 40% Sunday. For now, flooding and severe risks appear low, but your First Alert Weather Team will advise.

In the tropics… Disturbance Invest 95-L, northeast of Bermuda, appears to have missed its formation window. Father south, vigorous African tropical wave Invest 96-L officially still has high odds to organize as it speeds toward the Caribbean, though dry air and wind shear could arrest its development. Dolly is the next storm name. Thankfully, there remain no definable Carolina threats as of this post.
