Luverne, MN, man sentenced to over 13 years for fentanyl distribution

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A Luverne, Minnesota, man has been sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison for his role in distributing fentanyl pills across the Sioux Falls area.

Shaun Mitchell, 38, was sentenced to 13 years and 4 months in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

A federal grand jury indicted Mitchell in January 2024 on a charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance…
