Clearwater Beach is about to get loud. From September 24 through 27, the world’s biggest and fastest speedboats will tear along the shoreline as part of the Xinsurance Clearwater Offshore Nationals, with roughly 90 offshore powerboats up to 50 feet long expected to compete and top-tier classes reaching speeds of up to 150 mph in the Gulf of Mexico.
The race is more than a spectacle for beachgoers — it carries real competitive weight. According to City of Clearwater Government, the event brings the world’s biggest and fastest speedboats racing along the shores of Clearwater Beach. Sanctioned by Race World Offshore and the American Power Boat Association, the event serves as Round 3 of 4 in the 2026 APBA Offshore National Series, according to the American Power Boat Association.
