PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Cleanup work may begin later this week at the site of a three-story home destroyed by fire nearly three months ago at 160 Carpenter St., according to men who said the property owner hired them to remove the remaining debris.
The home was destroyed in a May 29 fire. While the cause of the fire was later ruled undetermined, much of what was left behind remains on the property, including branches, shingles, pipes, cans, lumber, and other construction debris.
The pile of debris has remained in place for months, drawing concerns from neighbors about the appearance of the site and possible safety hazards.
NBC 10 returned to the property Wednesday, one day after reporting on the lingering damage. Two men at the site said they had just been contacted by the homeowner and expect to begin cleanup work later this week, possibly Friday…
