Police enforce e-bike and e-scooter regulations

Hinsdale police issued a total of 35 notices to appear, uniform citations/complaints and warnings in 19 incidents related to e-bikes, e-scooters and personal mobility devices between June 3 and Aug. 14, according to information provided after The Hinsdalean filed a Freedom of Information Act request.

“We’re getting fewer complaints to the station, so most of our enforcement is officer initiated,” Police Chief Brian King said. “It appears that, of our violations that are occurring, more often than not, are from offenders not living in the community.
