TULSA COUNTY, Okla. – Tulsa County Commissioner Lonnie Sims discussed several developments across the county, including increased early voting during runoff elections, a new garden project at the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center and preparations for the Tulsa State Fair.
Early voting increases across Tulsa County
Sims said a plan developed by Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Gwen Freeman and her team helped increase early voting during the runoff elections.
Early voting more than doubled compared with 2022, increasing from about 1,300 voters to about 4,000 this year, Sims said.
“They really put a plan together to increase early voting, and I think it really paid off,” Sims said. “It more than doubled this year. So we went from, in 2022, I think we had 1,300 to this year we have 4,000. So a pretty significant increase.”…
