A rising senior at Washington University was waiting for the light to change at the intersection of Forest Park Parkway and Skinker Boulevard when the car behind her was rear-ended, slamming that car into hers and damaging her vehicle’s bumper. “I just feel this jolt in my back, and then I know I’ve been hit from the back,” she says.
As the offending car sped away from the scene, the student and the other driver involved in the crash, a 40-year-old man with a passenger, debated where to wait for the city police to respond. They decided to move their cars out of the busy intersection to a neighboring street on WashU’s campus called Hoyt Drive, one block away from the accident. “We didn’t think anything of it at that point,” the student tells SLM.
That seemingly logical move would make an already frustrating situation much worse…
