A Parma man was sentenced earlier this month after pleading guilty to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in a crash that killed an Ada County paramedic.
Eleazar Puente Perez was sentenced to 365 days in jail by 3rd District Magistrate Judge Samuel N. Dickinson on Aug. 10, with 340 days suspended, according to online court records and audio obtained by the Idaho Statesman. Puente Perez can complete 100 hours of community service by Aug. 10, 2027, in lieu of serving the remaining 25 days in jail.
Puente Perez also was sentenced to a year of unsupervised probation and must pay $8,592 in restitution to the family of Kody Hansen, who was killed in the crash on Jan. 4, 2025, on U.S. Highway 20…
