A person was shot on Roxbury Street in Boston Wednesday evening, suffering non-life-threatening injuries before being taken to a hospital, and as of Thursday no arrests had been made in the case. Police officers responded to the 288 block of Roxbury Street just after 9 p.m., and the shooting remains under investigation.
The shooting was first reported by WCVB, which said police have not announced any arrests connected to the incident. The address sits in Boston’s historic Highland Park section of Roxbury, near Roxbury Crossing and Malcolm X Boulevard, according to the City of Boston. The block falls within the jurisdiction of Boston Police District B-2, which is headquartered at 2400 Washington Street in Nubian Square.
The Wednesday night shooting came on the heels of another non-fatal shooting reported in Roxbury the same night, at Wardman Road, which Hoodline covered separately in its report on that incident. Roxbury Street itself has seen gun violence before: in August 2024, District B-2 officers responded to a shooting on the nearby 10 block of Roxbury Street in which a male victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, self-transported to a hospital, and police later arrested a suspect near Centre Street, according to the Boston Police Department.

The Wednesday shooting arrives amid a complicated citywide trend. Preliminary data from the Major Cities Chiefs Association released in August showed Boston homicides fell 52% during the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, dropping from 21 to 10 killings, per Axios.
