Bowling Green, Kentucky-based Houchens Food Group has launched Food Saver, a price impact format, with the opening of its first three stores in Celina and Decherd, Tennessee, and Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
The format was created to meet demand for affordable, fresh groceries, with an expanded selection of fresh meat and produce at the core of every store.
“The launch of Food Saver reflects our dedication to serving the evolving needs of our customers,” said Brian Shillinglaw, chief operating officer of Houchens Food Group. “We’re excited to introduce a format that brings together outstanding value and a wide selection of fresh foods, helping our communities thrive.”
Food Saver joins a lineup of grocery banners the company has assembled since 1990. Houchens Food Group opened its first Save-A-Lot that year and now operates the discount stores in eight states.
