Marion man gets 60 days in jail for exposing himself to children

CEDAR RAPIDS — A mother of two girls, who were under the age of 12 when a Marion man had indecent contact and exposed himself to the girls, said she was “angry” because “my daughters’ childhoods were stolen” and that the man’s sentence doesn’t reflect the crime.

The woman, speaking at the Thursday sentencing of Trenton Eiben, 43, said her family had spent two years reliving the “nightmare,” pending resolution of the case, and her daughters’ lives “have been changed forever.” She said she will never understand how anyone could “sexually abuse” a child.

Sixth Judicial Associate District Judge Nicholas Scott sentenced Eiben to 30 days in jail for each conviction of assault-contact insulting or offensive, and assault-fear or immediate contact, both simple misdemeanors. Scott ran the convictions consecutively for a total of 60 days in jail…
