LAFAYETTE, La. – Another day, another local business closing to report. This time, it’s Tokyo Japanese Steak House at 3511 Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette.
Several people posted on Facebook earlier this week that the restaurant had closed. The owners later confirmed the closure by posting “Closed” on the building’s marquee, but didn’t mention anything on social media.
That changed on Wednesday, August 26 when the following was posted on Tokyo Japanese Steak House’s Facebook page:

As you can see in the above post, the reason for the closing is that the lease has come to an end and the owners apparently have decided to move on rather than continue with a new lease at the same location. A new location may be in the future.

Tokyo Japanese Steak House opened in this location in 2011. According to The Acadiana Advocate, the owners signed a five-year lease in 2011 that expired on August 31, 2016. It then had two options to extend another five years, according to court filings…
