14-year-old detained after shooting teen with mother’s gun, Bernalillo County DA says

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –  A 14-year-old is detained at a juvenile facility following a shooting that seriously injured another teenager, according to Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman.

Investigators said the teen took his mother’s gun and was with a group of friends when he pointed the gun at another teenager and pulled the trigger multiple times.

The victim told police the gun appeared to be dry-fired before the teen put a magazine in and fired it again. This time, the firearm discharged, hitting the victim in the shoulder and causing serious injuries, according to the DA…
