Spokane family can’t return home after fires left it unsafe

Spokane, Wash. — One Spokane family says their home survived the Spokane Complex fires but still it’s not safe to live in.

The Novin family has been staying in hotels since the fires because of smoke, ash and the potential for asbestos inside the house. Their insurer is still testing for asbestos as the family waits in Coeur d’Alene at the nearest hotel that could take them and their dog.
