The Clarksville City Council is considering an ordinance that would tighten restrictions on where vape shops can be located within the city limits.
At the city’s executive session Thursday, Aug. 27, Jeff Tyndall, executive director of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission, shared a map showing the current locations of vape shops in the county. Stores affected by the changes would include vape, smoke and tobacco shops.
“So, what we did, was very similar to the liquor store ordinance that was updated last year, putting limits from churches, schools and parks, and playgrounds owned by the city or the county,” Tyndall said. “What this map is showing you is that these uses would be permitted in C5 and that’s the areas in blue that you see.”…
