KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A monthslong governance dispute within the People’s Food Co-op in Kalamazoo turned physical after the store’s interim general manager was physically removed.
Video shared with News 8 by Emma Hilgart-Griff captures a struggle between a member of the People’s Food Co-Op store and the interim general manager on Friday. Others can be seen trying to pull the people apart. Later, the interim general manager appears to have the member on the ground.

This comes after one group of members — officially called owners — says the old board was recalled and a new board was elected earlier this week.
In recent months, there have been several resignations from the board of directors. Owners have expressed concerns over governance and transparency, as well as the financial health of the store that calls Harrison Street home.
