The Captain Eddy Haneman Sailfish Tournament celebrates 25 years of fishing and philanthropy.
Every year on the last weekend of July, the ocean at Wrightsville Beach is dotted with 30 to 40 boats going for dolphin (or mahi) and sailfish for the annual Captain Eddy Haneman Sailfish Tournament.
Named after one of Wrightsville Beach’s most beloved fishing captains, Eddy Haneman, aka Captain Eddy, the annual competition serves to honor the legacy of the late Haneman and other local charter boat captains like him.
