EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso’s Public Safety Coalition is making safe medication disposal more accessible by providing free deactivation pouches at every El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) station.
The coalition includes EPFD, the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the El Paso Police Department (EPPD). Aliviane, a local organization dedicated to addressing substance use and promoting healthier communities, is supporting the initiative by supplying the Deterra Drug Deactivation System pouches that will be distributed through fire stations.
Deterra pouches offer residents a simple and environmentally responsible way to deactivate and dispose of unused or unwanted medications at home.
