More than 14,000 CenterPoint Energy customers remained without power across the Houston area Friday evening after thunderstorms knocked out electricity to tens of thousands earlier in the day.
At the height of the outages, more than 52,000 CenterPoint customers had lost electricity, the company said. By 7 p.m., that number had fallen to more than 14,000 as hundreds of workers continued repairs.
