Wichita man sentenced to life for killing estranged wife

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita man was sentenced Friday to life in prison for killing his estranged wife.

In July, Joshua Orlando, 29, pleaded guilty to felony first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the death of 25-year-old Ivy Unruh.

Orlando was sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 25 years on the first-degree murder charge. He was also sentenced to an additional 13 years and nine months for aggravated kidnapping. The sentences will be served consecutively, so Orlando will not be eligible for parole for about 38.75 years.
