Canyon County to conduct aerial mosquito control along Boise River corridor

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho (CBS2) — On Sunday, the Canyon County Mosquito Abatement District will conduct an adult mosquito control application due to the increased presence of disease-carrying mosquitoes along Canyon County’s Boise River corridor.

According to a recent news release, applications will be made to 46,545 acres. Treated areas are portions of the Parma, Roswell, Notus, Greenleaf, Caldwell, Middleton, and Star communities. A twin-engine aircraft flying at approximately 300 feet will treat the area.

Citizens who live within the treatment area do not need to take any special precautionary actions. The product is labeled for use over both urban and agricultural areas and is commonly used in response to mosquito-borne disease threats or large outbreaks of pestiferous mosquitoes…
