Gyro Rice and Spice opened its third North Texas location this week, setting up shop at 919 E. Northwest Highway in Grapevine — directly across the street from two of the city’s biggest tourist draws. The fast-casual Mediterranean chain, known for its build-your-own rice bowls, gyros, and feta fries, has now expanded from a single Dallas storefront into three cities in under two years.
The Grapevine restaurant, staffed by the restaurant’s own team, opened its doors on August 26, according to restaurant staff cited by Community Impact. It joins existing locations in Trophy Club and Dallas, per the company’s website. Co-owner Krenar Ahmeti announced plans back in January to bring the brand into Tarrant County, helping guide its push into the Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs after the original Dallas storefront took off, according to Community Impact.
From a Dallas Storefront to a Tarrant County Trio
The chain’s roots trace back to a store at 7722 Forest Lane in Dallas, which opened in November 2024. A second location followed in July 2025 inside Trophy Club Town Center, taking over a spot once occupied by a Poki Bowl shop, per the same account of the company’s expansion timeline. Grapevine now marks the brand’s third stop in less than two years, a fast pace mirrored elsewhere in the region.
Every meat served at Gyro Rice and Spice is 100% Zabihah Halal certified, according to Zabihah. The menu leans on customizable basmati rice bowls, pita wraps, house-made ziki and spicy garlic sauces, and daily baked honey baklava, alongside the feta fries — french fries topped with feta cheese and a house drizzle. The signature gyro pairs ground beef and mozzarella with garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles on a warm pita, and the menu also includes a falafel rice bowl for vegetarian diners.
A Prime Spot Facing the Gaylord Texan
The new Grapevine location sits in Suite 200 inside Grapevine Station North, an 11-acre mixed-use development at State Highway 26 and Ruth Wall Road, positioned across from the Gaylord Texan Resort and Great Wolf Lodge.
