Ol’ Blue Eyes comes back to life at castle near Sedalia

The crowd is packed into a century-old castle near Sedalia, but the man who walks into the room with a mile-wide smile and sets off a round of applause is no baron or duke, but rather the spitting image of Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra.

As a drum sets the tempo, he lets go his first swinging line: “Fly me to the moon, let me pla-a-ay among the stars.…”

At surrounding tables, mature patrons perk up to a number they have heard a million times. But there are also listeners in their forties and thirties and even some teenagers who have no reason to know this man and this music, and they’re getting the same buzz. The driving beat, the assurance, the styling.
