Man who faked bomb threat on flight at DTW after missing it sentenced to probation

ROMULUS, Mich. – A Monroe man missed his flight at Detroit Metro Airport — he then called in a fake bomb threat. Now, he was sentenced to probation.

John Charles Robinson, 23, called Spirit Airlines on June 5, 2025, at 6:25 a.m. and reported false information about a bomb threat on a flight departing from DTW bound for Los Angeles.

According to police, Robinson said, “There’s going to be someone who’s going to try to blow up the airport, and there’s going to be someone that’s going to try to blow up that flight 2145.”…
