EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville man is facing pickpocketing and intimidation charges after police say he tried to take a man’s wallet and then pulled out a knife.
Officers said they initially responded to a fight in the area of East Walnut Street on Saturday morning.
At the scene, police said Donald Sleets freely told his account of what happened. They said Sleets mentioned two people harassing him and accusing him of trying to take someone’s wallet at a gas station, but he claimed that never happened.
Officers said they spoke with two victims. One of them told police he saw Sleets ask a man for money, and that Sleets reached into the man’s pocket and tried to take his wallet when the man wouldn’t give him any…
