Woman thought she won $10,000 lottery jackpot, clerk tells her she won over $600,000

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (WKRC) – A woman was excited when she thought she won $10,000 from a lottery ticket, only for the clerk to tell her she had actually won over $600,000.

According to a release from Michigan Lottery Connect, 65-year-old Margaret Sheppard purchased a Powerball ticket and, on a whim, also bought a Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket.

“I was at the store buying a Powerball ticket for the big jackpot and figured I’d get a Fast Cash ticket too,” Sheppard said. ““I looked the ticket over in the store and saw I’d won the jackpot, so I looked at the jackpot amount on the store’s Fast Cash sign and thought I’d won $10,000.”…
