Oakwood University student shares how world travels shaped his worldview

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — What started as a recommendation from a best friend has turned into several once-in-a-lifetime experiences for an Oakwood University student.

Matthew Dormus visited six continents in just 60 days this year while also landing a summer internship with the United Nations. At 22 years old, he says seeing the world firsthand changed how he sees the world and his future.

“Traveling around everywhere was a whirlwind. Being in a different time zone every week, different food, different weather, summer here, winter there, seeing all different shades of people and face shapes and just everything. It was wonderful to see the diversity that the world has to offer and to really have my viewpoint expanded,” Dormus said…
