Newly released dashcam footage has exposed the erratic and highly dangerous moments leading up to the arrest of an on-duty Arkansas State Police (ASP) corporal. The startling video, which captured a single-vehicle crash and a subsequent failed field sobriety test, has resulted in the swift resignation of a veteran officer.
The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, August 21, 2026, when ASP Corporal John M. Parker, 45, of Camden, was operating his official state police cruiser.
The Dashcam Footage
The silent but damning dashcam video from Parker’s own vehicle paints a terrifying picture of the moments before the wreck. Traveling along U.S. Highway 278 near Monticello around 7:30 p.m., the cruiser can be seen drifting dangerously across the roadway. At one point in the footage, the police vehicle veers directly toward oncoming traffic, narrowly missing a civilian motorist before swerving off the road and coming to a stop in a commercial lot.
