Last Saturday night was a busy one for the social events in Lafayette. Never more so than for the ladies of the Krewe of Xanadu. The krewe held its formal Xanadu Royalty announcement dinner Aug. 22 at River Oaks in regal fashion.
Judy Carbo, this year’s Queen Xanadu XXXVII, was announced at a royal luncheon earlier this summer. Saturday night’s dinner honored her, as well as the newly revealed King Xanadu XXXVII, David Landry. He was recognized alongside his consort and wife, Lori Landry. This year’s royal muses include Kylie Stucker, Desi Comeaux, Stacy Barton, Angie O’Bryan, Kimberly Horn, Jodie Broussard, Charlene Murphy, Erin Spears, and Tamie Jackson.
The royals and their families filled the River Oaks ballroom with a feast that included beef brisket, shrimp and tasso pasta. It was truly a feast fit for a king and queen. We also noticed how lovely everything looked decked out in gold and blue colors, along with lots of florals. We are told the ballroom look was facilitated by Donna Lyon, so hats off to her!…
