Local Food Inspections August 24 – 28

Madison County Health Department conducted inspections of the following establishments August 24 – 28.

August 25

Wilson Elementary School- Granite City

  • No violations

S & G Market- Granite City

  • 47 (C) Equipment shall be maintained in a state of repair and condition that meets the requirements specified under Parts 4-1 & 4-2. Cooler to maintain food temperature of 41 degrees or below. Freezer to maintain temperature where food is solid to touch. Hot holding units to maintain hot holding food above 135 degrees or above. Reference 4-501.11 (A). REACH IN COOLER STILL NOT MAINTAINING A TEMPERATURE OF 41F OR BELOW. A TEMPERATURE OF 62F WAS RECORDED. NO TCS FOOD ITEMS BEING STORED AT THE MOMENT. PIC SAID SOMEONE CAME TO CHECK ON IT AND FOXED IT. FACILITY NOT COOKING PIZZAS AT THE MOMENT. REPAIR OR REPLACE.
  • 55 (C) The premises shall be free of items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the establishment. This includes equipment that is nonfunctional or no longer used. Reference 6-501.114. GET RID OF UNNECESSARY EQUIPMENT IN THE BACK. 55 (C) [Floors, Walls and Ceilings] were found in a state of disrepair, or not to be smooth and easily cleanable. Reference 6-201.11. FLOOR UNEVEN, TILES BROKEN OR MISSING IN BACK. REPAIR OR REPLACE. 55 (C) Physical facilities shall be maintained in good repair. Reference 6-501.11. REACH IN COOLER DOOR IS BROKEN. REPAIR OR REPLACE.

Marko’s Fish- Madison

  • 51 (C) Establishment does not have minimum requirements for a service sink for cleaning of mops and floor cleaning tools and the disposal of mop water. Provide at least one floor mounted service sink or curbed cleaning facility with a floor drain to allow for proper cleaning and disposal of mop water, and other cleaning waste. Submit proposed plan for installation of sink. Reference 5-203.13.

Lake School ESSC- Granite City

  • 47 (C) Equipment shall be maintained in a state of repair and condition that meets the requirements specified under Parts 4-1 & 4-2. Cooler to maintain food temperature of 41 degrees or below. Freezer to maintain temperature where food is solid to touch. Hot holding units to maintain hot holding food above 135 degrees or above. Reference 4-501.11 (A). 3D UPRIGHT CONTINENTAL FREEZER IS NOT OPERATING AND PRODUCT INSIDE HAS COMPLETELY THAWED OUT. TEMPERATURE LOG SHOWS AN INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE STARTING ON THE 15TH. FREEZER WAS SHUT OFF TODAY AND WORK ORDER IS IN PLACE. FOLLOW UP ON 9/4.
