Central Florida commuters dreaming of a way to skip the daily nightmare of interstate highway traffic might soon have a futuristic solution: simply taking to the skies.
During a recent press conference at the state-owned SunTrax testing facility in Auburndale, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida is officially preparing to launch a fleet of flying passenger vehicles.
“I’m proud to announce that by the end of the year Florida will be actively testing eVTOL aircraft throughout Central Florida aerospace region,” DeSantis stated, referring to electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technology.
