NORRISTOWN — A Bucks County woman was sent to jail for embezzling more than $197,000 from a Lower Moreland Township business for which she worked as a bookkeeper while the owner was out sick.
Susan M. Staples, 55, of the 200 block of Jennifer Court, Bristol Township, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 4 to 23 months in the county jail after she pleaded guilty to charges of access device fraud and receiving stolen property in connection with thefts that occurred while she worked for a local plumbing business.
Judge Wendy G. Rothstein also ordered Staples to complete 23 months of consecutive probation, meaning Staples will be under court supervision for about four years…
